NAKAMANDA MEANS “DRAGON OF THE ANDAMAN SEA”
Our Story Nakamanda Resort & Spa first opened its doors to guests in 2004. A proud moment for the owner Mr.Weera (Eric) Purinrak who began the project three years previously with a vision to create a resort that guests could call home on the exotic shores of Krabi.
Mr.Purinrak has always had a deep passion for the water, as a youth would take frequent excursions on the sea to tropical destinations such as Phi Phi Island before the tourist crowds arrived. Being fortunate to travel extensively overseas during his life, he also gained a keen interest in hotels, architecture and design.
This inspired him to create a resort of his own overlooking the sea, drawing together the elements and expectations that he personally values in a hotel. The result is a stylish boutique resort in a beautiful seafront setting, with a focus on design details and most importantly the guest-centric personal service.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
The unique design and architecture is one of the most striking features of Nakamanda. The design Is simple yet elegant and sophisticated incorporating natural materials such teak wood to give warmth and character and regionally sourced marble and sandstone for the refined finishing touches
The angles are the most striking, the pointed stairways, elegant rooftops, carefully crafted corners on the furnishing, all following an angular design. The villas are designed to give guests the freedom to move and relax, with additional Living spaces outdoors.
LOCATION
Nakamanda occupies a private cove on Klong Muang Beach, just steps away from a white sand beach. The private spot is so tranquil and quiet, and only 20 minutes from Ao Nang Beach, 30 minutes from Krabi Town and 40 minutes to Krabi International Airport. Closer to the resort guests can walk to discover a selection of local restaurants, bars, convenience stores, shops and an ATM.
SACRED SEA DRAGON (TOH NAK)
Our Hotel is located at “LAMHANGNAK” here with nearby located The King Place. The King Place located on right of the cliff overloogking The Andaman Sea.
“NAGA” Is considered sacred and revered by krabi people. It is believed that toh nak is there to protect and make sure everyone stays safe and well
Peace and happiness a place of worship for the naga table was built at ban khlong muang monastery. The villagers like to bring offerings to offer as offerings. Whether it’s boiled chicken. Boiled eggs, flowers and. Of course. Firecrackers.
TOH NAK (โต๊ะนาค)
This legend is the origin of the names of various places. That is related to the naga including khao ngon nak. Nong thale. And khao laem hang nak. What is interesting and surprising to everyone is that “Naga water” is a small pond. There is clear water flowing all year round on the naga crest mountain.

“SAN TA-YAI” SPIRIT HOUSE (SHRINE OF THE ANCESTOR)
‘Ta and Yal’ represents the spirits of the ancestors who lived here in past times.
WHAT ARE SPIRIT HOUSES FOR?
We believed believed that the ‘Lord of the land has powers that can influence almost everything from agricultural success in rural areas to financial success and safety at home.
Providing a home or shelter for these spirits is like taking out an insurance policy, by keeping the spirits happy you will remain safe and protected.
WHY MAKE OFFERINGS AT THE SPIRIT HOUSE?
As well as providing a shelter for the spirits, it is also very important that they are provided with the things that they possibly enjoyed in their previous life. Dally offerings, such as fruit, water, and garlands to ensure that the guardian spirits are happy and content.
When making offerings to the spirits it is also common to offer burning incense sticks. It is believed that the rising smoke is transporting the wishes for protection and good luck to the heavens.
